Rules:

Each Team will play head to head against another team each night for the duration of the 8 week season (season length could vary).

If you are in the 4-person league, two players from each team will play in one bay and your other 2 teammates will be in the bay next to you.

Scoring will be determined by the total of a player’s net score and 1/2 of the handicapped score.  (In the game of Top Golf, your handicapped score is determined as such, take your handicap, multiply it by 5, and add that number to your raw score and you have your handicap score.  If your handicap is 10, and you shoot a 150 in the game of Top Golf, your net score will be 200.  You will then take half of that score, 100 and add it to your raw score, 150 for a total of 250.  This is the score that will be used against your opponent).  This will all be covered in the rules and captains meeting on the first night of play.

A total of three points can be won for each of the first two games played.  The first game to be played will always be Top Golf, the 2nd game will vary between Top Chip and the different levels of Top Shot, and the 3rd game will always be Top Pressure.  Players will determine before play starts what the individual head to head matchups will be.  You will then switch who you play against in the 2nd game.  One point will be awarded to each head to head matchup and one bonus point will be awarded for combined score of the two teammates.  3 total points are awarded for the first game, 3 total points are awarded for the 2nd game, and 1 final point is awarded for the 3rd game – Top Pressure. A total of 7 points are to be had for the entire match.  In the case of the 4-person leagues, 7 points are to be had in each bay and a total of 14 points are to be had for the match (2 people in each bay side by side).  This of course opens up the possibility for ties in the 4-person leagues.  You will still receive points for ties, similar to that of hockey standings (2 points for winning the match, and 1 point for ties).

One point will be awarded for Top Pressure.  Top Pressure will be played using only one player’s card meaning each player will be taking ten shot’s, this game will be played by alternate shot.  Handicaps will not apply.  For example, if Nick and Brian are playing Chase and Alex, Nick will shoot ball number 1, Brian will hit ball number 2, Nick ball 3, Brian ball 4, and Nick again will hit ball 5.  Same applies for the other team.   In the case of an exact tie leading into Top Pressure, this game will determine who wins the match.  If your match happens to be all squared going into Top Pressure, and you and your opponent tie in Top Pressure, you will then replay the game of Top Pressure to decide the winner.

If for some reason a ball does not register, one player from the opposing team will confer with the player that took the shot as to where the ball went into the target and the score will be adjusted manually.

Alternates:

  • Teams can have up to 2 alternates who can fill in on dates that other Team Members aren’t available.  They will be using the team member’s card that is not present that night for their games.
  • If a team’s alternate is not available and the Team only has 1 member available (or 3 in the case of the 4-person league) that week, then that Team will forfeit.

Playoffs:

Playoffs are single elimination.  Teams will be seeded according to standings.  In the case of a tie, seeding will be determined by the points accumulated for each match, or PF on the standings sheet.

Cost:

Entry fee is $20 plus a $12 nightly fee for three games. League participants will stop at reception when they arrive and will pay the $12 and have three games put on their card as well as pick up their league cards.  They will also receive the night’s scorecard with bay assignment.  Bay assignments will be on the 2nd level usually in the middle of the floor.

Winning Team Captain will be responsible for collecting the scorecards and playing cards and turning them into the reception desk at the end of the night.

Standings will be posted by the front door when you walk into Top Golf by the tack board in front of the pro shop, scores will also be posted on this page.

Payouts:

Payouts will be determined by the number of participants.  The $20 entry fee will be pooled for prize money in the form of Top Golf gift certificates when the league winners have been decided.

Most importantly, have fun!  These leagues have been a great way to meet people and socialize while also making improvements on your golf game.  We look forward to seeing you at Top Golf.
